Hardware prototypes and small-batch manufacturing

Haksi helps turn hardware ideas into working prototypes and manufactured products. We build proof-of-concept devices using electronics modules, custom parts and 3D printing, assemble small batches in Jyväskylä, Finland, and coordinate larger production runs with partners.

Discuss your project

When we can help

For startups validating a product idea and hardware companies preparing a device for production. You can start with the question the prototype needs to answer, or bring an existing design and discuss the next manufacturing step. We work in Finnish and English.

What we can develop with you

  • Proof-of-concept prototypes using modules, custom parts and 3D printing
  • Electronics, firmware, enclosure and packaging development
  • Small-batch assembly and testing in Jyväskylä
  • Production and supply-chain coordination with local and international partners

How the work progresses

  1. Choose what to validate

We define the key product requirements and what the prototype needs to demonstrate. A proof of concept can support technical validation, market research or investor discussions.

  2. Build and iterate

A proof of concept typically takes 1–4 weeks, depending on complexity. Full product design is a separate phase, typically 2–6 months depending on the product. These are indicative ranges, not a delivery commitment.

  3. Move toward manufacturing

We coordinate testing and certification support with partners, then prepare assembly and the supply chain. Small batches are assembled locally; mass production is coordinated through partners.

Questions before starting

How quickly can a hardware prototype be ready?

Our indicative proof-of-concept phase is 1–4 weeks, depending on complexity. It is intended to demonstrate key functions. A production-ready product involves further design, testing and manufacturing work; we assess the schedule for your scope.

Do I need a complete specification before contacting Haksi?

No. The process starts with your idea and its requirements. Describe the user, the problem the product solves, the current stage and any constraints you already know.

Can Haksi handle small batches and larger production runs?

Yes. We handle small-batch production in our Jyväskylä facilities and coordinate mass production through partners. Assembly steps, component sourcing and the production location are determined by the product and its volume.

How much does prototype development cost?

The scope depends on what needs to be demonstrated, the electronics and enclosure work, component choices, testing and the number of units. Send a short description and any known budget or schedule constraints so we can discuss a suitable first phase.
